Loulu are full with many new fronds, rising like great sails around the center. Their frondlets begin to individuate, separating from a kind of binding kaula at the edge of each frond. The unfurled center frond points upward to an atmosphere full of sun, warmth, humidity, quiet movement of air, and scattered billowy clouds.
